What to Expect

Many people are often overwhelmed, and maybe even nervous, when visiting a doctor for the first time. Paperwork needs to be completed, an honest discussion needs to be had, and a diagnosis will follow. What you will find once visiting our office is that the stigma of a doctor is no where to be found. You will be welcomed with a warm greeting, you can complete the paperwork in the comfort of your own home (CLICK HERE). and we will simply have a conversation on strategies that will contribute to the quality of your life. We have been in existance for many years in our beautiful community and after working with 1,000's of people, we are confident that your experience in our office will be like nothing that has ever taken place in your life. We have patients who frequently visit the practice because, "It just feels so right!"Therefore, we encourage you NOT to feel overwhelmed and NOT to be afraid, because the relationship that you establish with Silverston Family Chiropractic will be long lasting and provide you with everything you need when it comes to your health. With this being said, we want to make sure that you know EXACTLY what to expect:

New Patient Forms: We encourage you to complete the NEW PATIENT APPLICATION prior to visiting the practice because this will save approximately 15-20 minutes and allow you to feel extremely comfortable in your own home. If for some reason you have any questions, we will support you once in the office.

Welcome! Upon arriving to our office you will be warmly greeted like a member of our family and given some preliminary information on chiropractic and how it works in our office.

Initial Consultation and Screening: We will review your application for care and you will consult with the doctor who will perform two preliminary tests (posture and palpation) to help determine first and foremost if he thinks you can be helped in our office. He will explain any findings and discuss with you how you may proceed with care. This is always done completely at our expense so that you can feel comfortable, and determine if you are in the right place for the right care for you, before having to make any financial investment in the process. Based on the initial findings of the preliminary screening, the doctor will make suggestions and explain any costs involved, so you can make an informed decision on how you would like to proceed.

Health History and Chief Complaints or Concerns: We want to know what you’ve been through, any current health challenges you are experiencing, and what your goals are. We may have a conversation with you about what you desire from your life and what you feel is preventing you from getting to this place. We will provide you with information that discusses how your body works and ways to achieve more health, life, and happiness. We have had people of all ages and all activity levels truly benefit from the initial consultation because it allowed them to assess their current well-being and then communicate their definition of a life without limitations.

 Examination: If we think we can help you and you choose to proceed, we will likely perform a complete and comprehensive chiropractic wellness examination that will test your reflexes, muscle strength, range of motion, as well as many standard neurological, orthopedic, and physical examinations. We also use cutting edge OBJECTIVE TECHNOLOGY to help assess your neurospinal health. You are in control of your health and this will be the conversation that we will educate you on during the time that you share. 

X-RAYS: Your condition might require an x-ray analysis in order to truly assess where the challenge resides within your body. If/when we decide to perform a series of x-rays, this will allow us to clearly determine the next steps. X-rays provide us with an objective diagnostic tool, along with important information including the position of the spinal bones, and the quality of the spine and safety of adjusting it. We also use x-rays to determine how long the subluxations have been in the making.

Report of Findings: You will be scheduled for your Report of Findings within a few days of your initial visit. After reviewing your health history, goals, and analyzing your exam findings, Dr. Silverston will give you a detailed report and all of your questions will be answered including:

1. Can we help?
2. What will it take?
3. What will I need to do?
4. What will it cost?

Dr. Silverston will discuss recommendations and notify you if your condition requires care with other providers. Dr Silverston will provide the best care and wellness program possible for your needs.
